Jah Eye
1998-2002

Concept

This work represents, from different angles, magnified sections of an idealized eye. The eye is trying to reveal the Unseen through what is seen, to discover transparency by means of intensity, and intensity by means of transparency. In the transparency we are free to see what we can’t see with the unaided eye. The revelation is this: it is possible to free the painter, the viewer and the eye, to transfigure them into a pure idea, into something approaching the Divine.
